Last week, the 3rd, 4th and 5th Graders had a field trip to the Loveland Living Planet Aquarium. This place is such a gem for learning about animals and habitats from all over the world. Not only do students get to see animals from Asia, South Africa and Utah but there are exhibits where they can even touch some animals from the ocean. Everyone had a fun, learning experience.

If there wasn’t enough excitement at Cherry Creek last week, a 5th grade Croc found a garden snake in the field. With the help of our custodian, this wayward snake found a different place to reside.

Can’t leave the 5th Graders out…5th Grade’s Got Talent too! There were Cellist, Piano Players, Dancers, a Karate Kid and more! Cherry Creek doesn’t lack creative and talented students. Thanks for sharing!

One of the most anticipated activities of the year is the Reading Carnival, which is the reward activity for meeting one of our Wildly Important Goals: Nightly Reading Minutes. Each Croc got to pick out books to take home to read over the summer. What’s a carnival without the fun games? And there were lots of games to choose from. Crocs also participated in a cake walk and bounce house race course. And the crowning activity was the drawing for fun prizes.

Last week, the 2nd Graders shared their talents. There were artists, dancers, piano players, singers and more. There were so many brave Crocs that shared their unique talents.

The school year is coming to a close and some Crocs are finding ways to go out with a great memory. This 2nd Grade Croc made the Impossible Shot today! Congratulations!

This group of students were called into Principal Darrington’s office to get their birthday gifts and Reading Carnival prizes. But as soon as they heard the national anthem being played, they knew the respectful thing to do: they stopped in their tracks, turned to face the flag in the front office, put their hand over their heart and stood til the anthem was done. Cherry Creek Crocs are patriotic, respectful and live Habit #3: Put First Things First.

Last week, the 4th Graders got to participate in the city track meet. In the sunshine and perfect weather, they cheered on their classmates as races were run. Here are the 4th grade Crocs that placed in various races and field events. Congratulations!

A grateful Cherry Creek Croc spent her Croc Cash to buy the Principal’s Chair so she could thank another Croc for being such a good friend. Habit #5: Think Win-Win. What a thoughtful friend!

What a way to remember your last year at Cherry Creek. This 5th Grader in Mr. Jenkins class made the Impossible Shot! Congratulations!

1st Graders continue Letters Countdown with K for Kings & Queens and L is for Lazy Day. We celebrated with a little waltz box step dance and a tea party

Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd graders took a field trip to the Loveland Aquarium last week. Crocs got to see all kinds of animals from the Artic, Asia, Utah, South America and more. They got to touch tide pool animals, watch the penguins and otters and learn about so many more other animals. Fun was had by all!

80’s Skate Day is the most anticipated event of the school year! Crocs love to skate, scooter and move to the music of the 80’s. Many Crocs even dress up in bright neon colors. What a fun day!

5th Grade Crocs represented Cherry Creek well at the Springville Track meet. Quite a few Crocs came out on top in many of the track events. Congratulations!

After the Victory Assembly on Friday, the 4th Graders took part in Arbor Day activities. Under the direction of Springville City officials, the 4th Graders helped beautify Cherry Creek by helping to plant trees on the school grounds. Thank you to the city Arborist and Springville Parks and Recreation for adding some beautiful shade trees to our school.

The 1st Grade ABC countdown continues. H is for Hopscotch and I is for Ice cream. I think I want to go back to 1st grade…reviewing the ABC’s is fun!

As the year comes to an end, Mrs. Darrington’s chair is becoming a hot commodity! Today, a 3rd Grader trades his Croc Cash in for the Principal’s chair.

Springville Librarians came to visit Cherry Creek to invite all Crocs to participate in the free Summer Reading Program hosted by Springville Library. All the activities are free. We hope all Cherry Creek Crocs will take advantage of this free program and keep their reading skills sharp over the summer.
