A 4th Grade Croc makes the 1st Purchase of the Principal’s chair of the year. This Cherry Creek Croc saved up her Croc Cash to be the 1st to buy Mrs. Darrington’s chair for a day. She’ll be learning in comfort today!
What a trick and a treat! This 5th grader in Mrs. Nielson’s class made the Impossible Shot on her birthday. What a Happy Birthday surprise! Congratulations!
Lucy Young’s dad came in to talk to us about what he does. He is an Olympic marathon runner. He just raced in the Chicago marathon and got first American!
In 2nd grade we have been learning about ancient Greece and their contributions of marathons and the Olympics!
We got to race each other and also do some of the drills he does to warm up for a race. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experiences.

Wear a hat or outfit that represents a community hero you appreciate. Today, Police officers and Firefighters came to visit with the Crocs at Cherry Creek. It was great to get to know them, play soccer, football and four square with them. It was a great way to interact with them, ask questions and thank them for the wonderful examples of service, leadership and healthy living. Thanks for coming to spend time with us. We are grateful for your service!

We’ve got lots of superpowers! From sports players that move their body to stay healthy, kids that help animals, people, & kids that help build. We sure are powerful! During lunch time, Crocs learned Yoga poses to build resilience. Namaste!
Cherry Creek Crocs were asked to show up as their favorite Super Heroes for the first day of Red Ribbon Week. On Tuesday, Crocs can wear an outfit or hairdo that shows their superpowers that keep you strong: healthy foods, sports, reading, math, science, music, art, etc. Let’s see how creative you can be!
On Friday, we had our October Victory Assembly. Our Top Crocs, Leaders of the Month and Habit Heroes were announced. Great Job being exemplary students and living the 7 Habits Crocs! Mrs. Deardeuff and Mrs. Smallcomb were awarded the Teacher Top Croc & Staff Leader of the Month. We are doing well progressing towards our Wildly Important Goals…keep living the 7th Habits and doing your nightly reading.
This week, the Spirit Day Trophy goes to Mrs. Jensen’s 1st Grade class. All of her students were wearing RED or Cherry Creek attire. Congratulations!
Discovery Gateway Outreach Program visited our kindergarten classes for a fun, hands-on lesson about pushes and pulls! Our little scientists had a blast trying out a few different experiments. It was an exciting way to explore how forces make things move while learning through play. What a fun day of discovery for our Kinder Crocs.

Crocs and Parents There are lots of great programs and events coming up over at the Springville Museum of Art for our local youth! Mark your calendars to participate in some fun activities!
Mr. Paul Brewer mixed magic and science to make learning fun during Friday’s STEM assembly. Some of our Crocs had a hand in helping create the magic while learning about transporting a bunny through a cannon across the stage, optical illusions that expanded and contracted the size of heads and synergizing to rely on each other for balance and support. After the assembly, many students were inspired to learn magic tricks and learn more about Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.
This morning, the 2nd graders took a field trip to Cornbellys! We learned about corn and farming and had some fun!
Mrs. Golding’s 1st Grade class takes the Spirit Day trophy again this week. Congratulations! Whoa…that’s not Mrs. Golding! But the teacher is wearing a Cherry Creek shirt? It’s Mrs. Hill…Mrs. Hill used to teach at Cherry Creek, but now has her own preschool. It was a surprise to see her as a sub for Mrs. Golding. We miss you Mrs. Hill! Come back again soon!

This week, Ms. Beeson’s 2nd grade class did some engineering to solve how to stop erosion. They experimented with different materials to find what would help support the structures. Science experiments are fun!
On Friday, Cherry Creek participated in a state wide Read-a-thon that was sanctioned by Governor Cox. “ When we invest in reading, we invest in Utah’s future. This read-a-thon is a fantastic way to bring Utah families, schools, and neighborhoods together around the joy of a good book. By instilling a love of reading in Utah’s students, we inspire lifelong learning and help unlock their incredible potential,” Lt. Gov. Henderson said. The Read-a-Thon is part of Utah Reads, a statewide effort to help children build strong reading skills and encourage Utahns of all ages to make reading a habit. Ms. Beeson’s 2nd Grade class had a great time reading their favorite books.
