Today at our assembly, we learned what our WIGs are for the new school year. What are WIGs? They are our Wildly Important Goals. Our first goal is for every student in the school to earn 2 Croc Claws during the school year. A student can earn a Croc Claw by living one of the 7 Habits of Highly Effective Students. The 2nd goal is do their nightly reading so they can earn a reading ticket. The school wide goal is to 10,000 tickets by the Reading Carnival in May. If each student lives the 7 habits and reads every night, we can achieve our goals! Let’s do this! Let’s Be Proactive, Put First Things First and Synergize!
Who has school spirit??? Mrs. Golding’s 1st Grade Class has school spirit! ALL of her students were wearing RED or Cherry Creek attire. Congratulations!
Get excited! Leadership night is coming soon and these art projects are looking amazing. Here’s a sneak peak of Mrs. Truscott’s 4th Grade class creating some glow in the dark sharks.

It’s been a Cheery, Cherry kinda week at Cherry Creek. These students wore some fun cherry apparel and brought a fun cherry water bottle to school. It’s so fun to recognize cherries all around us.
It’s Spirit Day Friday! Today we had 2 classes that won the trophy. Mrs. Golding’s 1st Grade class and Mrs. Zambrano’s 3rd Grade class had 85% of their students wearing RED or Cherry Creek attire. Congratulations! Thanks for showing you school spirit!

We’d like to introduce you to some new faces at Cherry Creek this year. We have Mr. Aguirre, who is our new Psychologist. And Mrs. Schmoekel, who is our new Librarian. If you see them in the halls, please give them a big Croc welcome!
Mrs. Jensen’s 1st Grade Class is excited to be back at school. Here’s their 1st Day of School picture.
During this 1st week of school, Principal Darrington has been reading with the Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade classes to help get to know each child’s name and to reinforce positive choices at school. This spring, she was honored to receive Instructional Leader of the Year by Nebo School district…. “A principal who has improved student achievement through leadership with teachers, staff and community.” This summer, she was awarded Elementary Instructional Leader of the Year for the state of Utah. Cherry Creek is lucky to have Mrs. Darrington at the helm.
A 4th Grader in Mrs. Truscott’s class earned the 1st Croc Claw of the year. Mr. Johnson awarded the Croc Claw to this student for living Habit #1, Be Proactive, for turning in a lost toy. Congratulations!
It’s a Cherry Creek tradition to roll out the red carpet to welcome our students on the first day of school. There were High 5’s, Hugs and photos taken with the Cherry Creek back drop and the Welcome sign. Welcome Back Crocs! We are hoping you all have a great year at Cherry Creek!

Today, the Kinders had their graduation program. They learned so much over this past year and have grown in stature and knowledge. They sang songs about what they learned, recited the 7 Habits and graced us with the school song. Great Job Kinders!
Cherry Creek held its 5th Grade Graduation ceremony this week. The graduates sang songs and the class Valedictorians gave their graduation speech. After diplomas were awarded, the graduates sang a last song: So Wave Your Flag. We are sad to see these Crocs leave Cherry Creek, but are excited for their new adventures at the Jr. High. Congratulations and Best Wishes!
