What a fun Christmas present!
What a fun Christmas present!

It was Grinch Day in 2nd Grade. So many Crocs dressed in Green, Grinch wear and had cute hairdos like Cindy Lou Who. Welcome Christmas. Bring your cheer, cheer to all Who’s, far and near!

Another 3rd Grader cashes in to buy Mrs. Darrington’s Chair for a day. Learning in Luxury!

On Tuesday, the Spring Canyon Middle School sent their Orchestra, Choir, Band and Dance members to share some holiday spirit. There were some Cherry Creek’s Alumni that were in the performance. It was wonderful to see them grow and share their talents! Habit #8: Find Your Voice and Inspire Others to Find Theirs.

Cherry Creek is grateful to members of the community who Lead and Serve. The members of the Garden Homes at Millpond HOA donated funds for Cherry Creek’s Giving Tree. Thanks Millpond HOA for helping to provide some happiness at Christmas to some Cherry Creek Crocs. They are great examples of Habit #4: Think Win-Win and Habit 6: Synergize

Spirit Day Winners looked a little different today. Mrs. Rees’ class won a Spirit Day Trophy with 85% of her class wearing Red or Cherry Creek attire. It was Grinch Day in 1st Grade, so Mrs. Jensen’s class won with ALL of her students wearing Red, Green or Grinch wear. So fun to see everyone dressed up today!

Clive & Bonnie Romney, from the Utah Pioneer Heritage Arts program, came to share their knowledge of Utah through song and storytelling. Mr. Romney is a musician, storyteller and cultural advocate. He made learning about Utah fun, through his stories and cadence songs, getting both students and teachers involved.

1st Grade showed they’ve got School Spirit! Mrs. Golding’s and Mrs. Jensen’s 1st Grade Classes had ALL of their students wearing RED or Cherry Creek attire and proudly took the Spirit Day trophies. Congratulations!

Friday’s Victory Assembly was exciting! Top Crocs and Leaders of the Month were announced. The PTA recognized the winners of the Reflections contest and revealed the students who advanced to the next level of the competition. The Student Lighthouse team also gave us an update on our WIGS. Last month, Mrs. Darrington challenged all Crocs to do their nightly reading and if the goal of 2,000 reading tickets were reached, Crocs would be rewarded with a Hat Day. Guess what??? That goal was reached and surpassed…so be looking forward to wearing your most unique hat to school. Congratulations everyone!

This week, Mr Jenkins’ 5th Grade class takes the Spirit Day Trophy with 95% of his class wearing RED or Cherry Creek attire. Congratulations! Mrs. Hardman’s 2nd Grade Class, Mrs. Jensen’s and Mrs. Golding’s First Grade Classes were close behind!

This must be the new trend for 3rd Grade. Another 3rd Grade Croc, this time in Ms. Loomis’ class, bought Mrs. Darrington’s chair for a day! The Principal’s chair must be pretty comfy!

Mrs. G's and Mrs. Brush's 95% reading group finished a book about Green Snakes. Mrs. G invited Mr. Deardeuff to bring in his 2 snakes, Sol and Luna, to class to learn more about them and to have hands on experience with how they feel and how they move. Thanks Mr. Deardeuff for teaching these Crocs and letting them have a personal experience with Ball Pythons.

A 3rd Grader in Mrs Zambrano’s class saved up her Croc Cash to buy Mrs. Darrington’s chair for a day. What a way to spend a day learning in comfort!

2nd grade classes competed in a “foot race” as a cumulative day for our knowledge unit on Greek history and myths. All four classes raced and then we did a final race.

Monday was Veteran’s Day. Some of our Crocs invited their favorite Veteran to come and share their military experiences. Cherry Creek celebrated these Veterans with a Victory lap. Mrs. Sorenson made a sweet treat to thank them for their service and for coming to share their experiences. We love and appreciate all that Veterans have done to help us enjoy the freedoms we have in the United States.

Today, we had two classes winning the Spirit Day trophies. Mrs. Golding’s 1st Grade Class and Mr. Jenkin’s 5th grade class both had ALL of their students wearing RED or Cherry Creek attire. Congratulations!

A 3rd Grader in Mrs. Rees’ class made the Impossible Shot in PE yesterday. Great Job! It seems like the 3rd graders have the magic touch lately.

November is Native American Heritage Month. Mrs Brenda Beyal came to to share her talents of making Fry Bread. Mrs. Beeson’s 2nd Graders watched her roll out the dough and cook it. They especially enjoyed eating the tasty treat. Other Crocs attended a bead making presentation. It’s always fun to learn about other cultures.

This 3rd Grade Croc saved up her hard earned Croc Cash to buy Mrs. Darrington’s chair for a day. What a comfy way to spend a day learning!
