The Loveland Living Planet Aquarium came to Cherry Creek with some friends. The 2nd Graders got to learn about, see and touch some fun animals.

As the year comes to an end, Mrs. Darrington’s chair is becoming a hot commodity! Today, a 3rd Grader trades his Croc Cash in for the Principal’s chair.

Springville Librarians came to visit Cherry Creek to invite all Crocs to participate in the free Summer Reading Program hosted by Springville Library. All the activities are free. We hope all Cherry Creek Crocs will take advantage of this free program and keep their reading skills sharp over the summer.

On Friday, we had our Victory assembly where our Top Crocs and Leaders of the Month were revealed. We achieved our WIG for earning Croc Claws, YAY! We still need to keep reading every night to reach our reading goals for the Reading Carnival. We were sad to hear Mrs. Blackburn will be retiring this year. Ms. Mayne and her preschool crew will be relocated to the Summit Center. Mrs. Barrett will be working at BYU, helping to put together events. And Mrs. Vandygriff’s husband got a job on the East Coast. We will miss these wonderful teachers and techs next year and wish them the best in their endeavors.

First Graders reviewed the letters F &G. F is for Forts and Flashlights. G is for Games! It’s fun reviewing our letters.

Cherry Creeks Got Talent. On Thursday, Kindergarteners showed off their many talents. There were singers, dancers, piano players and more. We are so proud of our Kinders who were brave and willing to share their various skills with peers and family. Bravo to all who participated!👏🏾

1st Grade ABC review continues with C is for Count Down Chains, D is for Drinks & Donuts and E is for Eating Outside…it was too cold to eat outside, so they ate in their classrooms.

Mrs. Jensen’s 1st Grade Class definitely has spirit! Today, all of the class was wearing RED or Cherry Creek attire. Looks like a Pizza Party is in their future! Congratulations!

Secretaries are the heart of our school! April 22nd is National Secretaries Day. Cherry Creek honored our secretaries with a root beer float party since they are the ones that keep our school “afloat.” Mrs. Taylor and Mrs. Pratt know every Croc by name, they support the staff and students and ensure the smooth operation of the school. We are sure lucky to have such organized, friendly and talented secretaries❣️

A 3rd Grader in Mrs. Ree’s class bought Mrs. Darrington’s chair for a day. Crocs are catching on that the Principal’s chair is a comfy way to spend a day at school!

These two had fun together in Art building this girl out of Geo Sticks. Habit #6; Synergize

Two more Crocs cashed in their Croc Cash for a day of luxury learning in Mrs. Darrington’s chair. We assume as end of year testing gets into full swing, more Crocs will be trading in for a day in the Principal’s chair.

A 5th Grader got creative with cucumbers served at lunch. She took some time to relax and rejuvenate so she could face the 2nd half of the school day!

1st Grade ABC Countdown….B is for Bubbles! Bubbles make everyone happy!

3rd Grade Crocs are Talented! Yesterday, 3rd Graders showed off their various talents at their Talent Show. There were artists, singers, musicians, magicians and more. Thanks for sharing your talents and helping others to think about new skills to explore and excel at.

Today, Author Mike Knudson came to visit Mrs. Truscott's fourth grade class. We read his Raymond and Graham series as a class and were fortunate enough to be able to have a visit from him! He is Annie Knudson's Grandfather! We had so much fun learning about how he wrote his books and what his writing process is! He even brought a new book for each student in our class!

At Wednesday nights School Board meeting, Mrs. Truscott was recognized as Cherry Creek’s Teacher of the Year. We are fortunate to have Mrs. Truscott’s as a teacher here at Cherry Creek. She loves her students and works hard to help students be the best they can be. Congratulations!
